Free Spyware Remover Download

What is a good virus/spyware scanner that is free, doesn't change your homepage,and actually works?

You know,one where it can get rid of the viruses/spyware or whatever else without having to sign up or pay monthly. Windows Defender is ok, but it's impossible to change the homepage to what I want. And of course, it has to be effective. Please :)

3. yes AVG it is great totally virus free im looking at the icon right now. Its free but you can buy extra protection its only against viruses.
4. Spybot is the best... It removes both spyware and virus unlike AVG that only removes virus....

I paid $70 bucks at Wal Mart for a "McAfee Security Suite," and ever since, my computer runs like a dream because it's got a "Registry Cleaner" in it that keeps my computer running fast and clean, and all the virus and such problems I had with the "Free AVG" program went away overnight, AND it gives you the ability to "track down" and "block" internet addresses that are "sneaking into" your computer... If I had more money, I would have bought the most expensive Anti-Virus program there was, because when it comes to virus programs... You get what you pay for...(the more expensive, the better)

7. i use spybot as a freebee. but lately updates have made it really strick, worse than vistas thing where it makes u confirm everything. mind u, its effective, but i still have to confirm every link i click getting to my email. why? i dont know...
