Free Spyware Remover Download

Are there any TRUELY free spyware scans that will also remove spyware?

I have been to all the spyware removal sites, downloaded for free then scanned only to find after they say you have 100 some odd infections, that to remove them you had to give them your credit card. Are there any sites like yahoo anti-spy that are TRUELY free and are safe, that will not only scan for spyware but remove it also? PLEASE help. Thanks.
