7. All you need to do is go to google, or yahoo, and type in Spybot. AVG is a free virus scanner. Ad-Aware is a good adware scanner. All are free, to my knowledge.

12. Ah, the popups and other security warnings are often caused by downloading free stuff. So you REALLY think that more free stuff will solve your problems? Sure there are some honest vendors out there but they charge for their services and are legally accountable. Why would someone want to give you a free virus scanner or adware scrubber? Too many of these programs simply ad more crap to your system. I just spent two days trying to fix a customer's system that had several of these "free" spyware and adware programs installed. They did nothing but let his system get infected with a serioius trojan and wrecked the system. It will cost him over $200 for my time to repair it. Get a SERIOUS program like one of those listed in Consumer Reports to solve your adware/spyware/virus evilware problems.
