I like to download and use an online only scanner once a month to mop up anything my installed programmes might miss. I usually use Dr Webb Cureit whichI have always found satisfactory, but would be open to change if anyone knew of a better one. How do I get these pop-ups to go away?!? I have an really annoying problem with my laptop. I keep getting popups whenever I surf the web from like Drive Cleaner, System Doctor, Policy Protector, Error Protector and the list goes on. I downloaded Spyware-Scanner and that didn't help at all. Each anti-spyware scanner that I try tells me that I have different infections. Which should I buy? ? I have downloaded free trials of SpyBot SD, STOPzilla, Spyware Doctor and Sophos Anti-virus, in order to compare them and decide which to buy. I also downloaded ad-aware 2008, avg free and spyware terminator, which are free/shareware. The free scans offered by these programs have each given me different results, e.g. STOPzilla's free scan tells me that I have a keylogger and a bunch of worms (but will not remove them until I register), whereas Spyware Terminator tells me that I only have a few tracking cookies. Which program would you recommend? Why am I getting such varied results? Some background on my protection up to this point, in case it's relevant: When I first got my PC 3 years ago it came with Norton's Anti-Virus already installed, and after that expired I installed AVG Free on my computer. EMERGENCY!!! I need a free, simple, automatic virus/spyware/malaware scanner/remover to get rid of ang scam? i got the ang malware,spyware,virus scam on my computer and i need a free way to remove it it is messing up my computer, popping up fake virus notices to scam me into money, and messing up my internet! It went unnoticed in my McAfee, i tried spyware doctor, the smrz-like gibberish scanner named with weird letters similar to that, malaware scanner and remover, which said it detected like 47 threats and removed them but the icons are still in the bottom right corer and they still pop up fake virus scam crap and make my internet nearly unusable. All this free automatic stuff either doesn't work, only scans but not removes for free, or has problems with it. I just another yahoo answer like this that didn't solve my problem, it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to remove manually, they say for one thing their is a huge risk for if you mess up, even after backing up your data, it could still permanently screw up the windows files and internet stuff on your entire computer, plus im not smart enough to follow all these "easy" (but really, really, hard) computer steps to manually remove it, typing in commands, deleting files, messing with settings, id screw up my entire computer trying to do this. my computer wont let me download any virus or spyware scanners? i think my computer is infected with something but im not sure it has declined in speed over the last week or so i tried to rune a spyware scan but it took over 24 hours just to scan 142308 files i used spy bot search and destroy so i thought i would update it but that did nothing. so i went to download.com and looked for a new spyware scanner and every time i found one i would download it and it would say download complete but i would click to open the file and it would say it is corrupt so then i thought it might be something w/ my internet but it wasn't because my computer runs slow even when it isn't online. so i tried a virus scan (avg) but it showed nothing so i decided to update it and it made avg go corrupt then i tried to download another copie of avg and when i went to open it, it said the file was corrupt. also on start up i will have a windows defender sheild at the bottem right of my screen but its not windows defender because theres two of them and also befor i use to be able to watch youtube videos or any other flash vides but now i can they just dont load and when they do the sound will cut out and it will start making a clicking sound in the speakers. so ill open vdtask manager (ctrl alt delet) and theres a process running iexplore.exe which i know is internet explore but i use mozzila fire fox and when i terminate iexplore,exe it stops click but iexplore.exe will turn back on and start clicking but its not on my bar at the bottem. but iexplore.exe will open all ther time so any game that i am playing minimizes and it starts too click. if you have any information that could help me please tell me because im desperate!

A few questions about Kaspersky / Spyware / Processes ! Have a look !? A few related questsions. I have a few processes running and there are one or two I am unsure of after checking their information on line. I have spoolsv.exe running and I was told that was for printer/fax applications which I never use ..in which case it could be a trojan etc. Now I dont want to go deleting anything straight away so my question is how can I scan it ? Im using Kaspersky 7.0 and the options I have there are SCAN MY COMPUTER or VIRUS SCAN . They dont seem to have a spyware scan . So is there a good free safe spyware scanner I can download ? Also will I have to remove my kaspersky or can these 2 programs coexist ? Any info on spool would be apprecaited , I was advised not to delete unless certain so doing some homework first. Yesterday I had 26 processes running ( which is not a lot _) but today I have 29 and I havent been on it and nothing is updating or downloading so just want to give it a check. How come when I don't even use the internet I keep getting pop-ups? Even when I disconnected the cable, I still get pop-ups but instead of an advertisement they say "Page cannot be displayed". STOPzilla/ Spyware help please? Someone downloaded AntiVirus2008 on a computer I was working on. It ended up being a trojan program or malware (not sure what exactly to call it). I've tried to delete/ unistall the program, tried to manually remove it, no luck. EVERY spyware scanner I've downloaded will find it, but won't remove it without me paying for a full version. Anyone have a email/ password or key for STOPzilla 5.0 or Spyhunter? AVG didn't catch it, I've ran it multiple times. I'd appreciate any help with this. I just need the virus off and then I'll uninstall these programs and use AVG.

How can I get rid of the Outerinfo Trojan when no spyware or antivirus scans will install (please read full)? I tried to restore my system, but the only date listed is yesterday, and this has been going on since Saturday. I also got a Hijack This listing, but I don't know where I can and can't post it, and it seems very complicated, plus the message boards I've gone to seem very uninviting about it. What can I do?

Cyber Security won't go away! And is spyware doctor just a scanner? I downloaded superantispyware and Malwarebytes, AND Spyware doctor as recommended by all the sites and everyone on here. The problem is, Spyware doctor doesn't actually remove the threats, it just scans for infections which doesn't help. Also, I ran superantispyware and malwarebytes, and they deleted some infections, all except for cyber security. Can someone help me get a free antivirus and spyware removal program? I had AVG on my old computer, but now that I have a laptop, I can't find a free version for the life of me. Same with Spybot: Search and Destroy. They were nice enough to let me download it and run the scanner, just not remove the problems until I upgraded.

i need adware and spyware remover... i have had problems with? adaware 2007 for some reason, i have downloaded it twice on two different computers and it freezes during scan and spybot is too over the top... so any advice on something simple and effective in the way of free ad and spyware scanners would be appreciated... running xp pro by the way
